Producer Soundarya Rajinikanth and actress Manju Warrier have voiced support for students protesting over alleged examination irregularities, calling for fairness, transparency and meaningful dialogue in the country’s education system.
In a post on Instagram, Soundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, expressed solidarity with the protesting students, saying their voices deserved to be heard with “empathy, dignity and respect.”
She added that every student deserved an education system that inspired confidence, fairness and hope.
Malayalam actress Manju Warrier also backed the students, stating that “humanity should prevail over politics.” She said young people had the right to raise questions and expect meaningful dialogue, while stressing that trust in the examination system could only be restored through transparency, accountability and fairness.
The statements come amid ongoing protests led by students and members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), who are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over recurring examination irregularities, including the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.
The protests, which began at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, have spread to several parts of the country, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Manipur and Punjab.
Meanwhile, Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Dr Jitendra Singh held talks with CJP representatives in New Delhi on Friday in an effort to address their concerns. However, the discussions remained inconclusive, with the protesters reiterating their demand for the Education Minister’s resignation.
