New Delhi: Indian cricket team captain Shubman Gill and former cricketer Irfan Pathan have also joined the ongoing student protests over the NEET paper leak. Gill, while sharing a note on social media, said that the voice of the peacefully protesting students should be heard and any decision should be taken only keeping their future in mind. In his Instagram story, Gill appealed to everyone to stand together for the rights of students. He said that this issue should be resolved with sympathy and mutual respect.
Gill wrote, “As a youth of the country, I believe that our generation should get every opportunity to study, dream and build their future. I respect every youth who is peacefully raising his voice for his rights. Education decides the future of our country. Let us all move forward together with empathy, mutual respect and keeping the future of every student above all. For a better future for India.”
‘Don’t break students’ dreams’: Irfan Pathan
Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan expressed his views on this matter in a very strict manner. He wrote on social media platform Pathan said, “Every student works hard for years for a better future. Their families also make huge sacrifices for it. But no paper leak should be allowed to crush their hopes. I have full faith in the law and authorities of the country. I hope that every child will get justice. Strict action should be taken to ensure that this does not happen again. Students are our future, their dreams should be protected.”
March to Parliament and hunger strike: Movement gaining momentum
This protest by students has now become more intense. These protests being led by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ have also received the support of famous environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, who has announced an indefinite hunger strike. The main demand of the protesters is that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should resign, taking responsibility for the paper leak. The news of cancellation of examinations after paper leak and suicide of many students due to mental stress due to this has filled the entire country with anger. As soon as the monsoon session of Parliament started, students also took out a march to Parliament. On this march, the police lathicharged and released tear gas shells, after which the protests further flared up in Delhi.
