Former Miss World and actress Manushi Chhillar has openly spoken in support of the students protesting over the alleged NEET paper leak. In an emotional note shared on Instagram, he said that due to the paper leak during the medical entrance examination in 2015, he too had to re-appear. Manushi said that it is very easy to ask a student to ‘give the exam again’, but behind it lies the pain of years of hard work, sacrifice of family and dreams. He stressed the need for accountability, sensitivity and meaningful reforms in the education system.
What did Manushi Chhillar say, who herself suffered the pain of paper leak?
Manushi Chhillar wrote on Instagram, “I have always believed that education is the greatest equalizer in an unequal world.” He further wrote, “Those who are saying ‘just give the exam again’ are not understanding the real thing. We have to be sensitive. I too had given the same exam twice in 2015 due to paper leak. It is not just an exam, but represents years of hard work, sleepless nights, sacrifices and dreams.”

What did Manushi say about her dream of becoming a doctor?
Sharing her experience as a medical student, Manushi wrote, “The true value of the dream of becoming a doctor is understood when you see in a coaching center those families who have taken loans beyond their capacity for their children’s education or those students who keep trying for years to crack this exam.” He said that millions of students consider education as the biggest way to change their lives, hence such obstacles in this journey are very painful.
Did Manushi raise questions on the government and institutions?
Manushi made it clear that demanding accountability is not against any country or institution. He wrote, “This is not a matter of being against our country or our institutions. It is a matter of believing that they can become better.” He said that it is the responsibility of every generation to do its part to take the system forward by making it stronger than before. At the end of his note, he wrote, “I believe in India. I believe in our democracy. And I believe that the strongest solutions come from dialogue, constitutional processes, and mutual respect.” Appealing to the people, he wrote, “Let sensitivity guide us. Wisdom unite us. And let us never forget that our youth are our future.”
