Devshayani Ekadashi 2026: Every year, on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month, the fast of Devshayani Ekadashi, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is observed. This year the fast of Devshayani Ekadashi is going to be observed on 25th July i.e. tomorrow Saturday. This Ekadashi is special from all other Ekadashi, because on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu gets absorbed in Yoganidra, due to which the period of Chaturmas begins. This is the time of God’s rest.
Chaturmas is also starting tomorrow from Devshayani Ekadashi, which ends on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This year Devuthani Ekadashi will be on 20th November. Devshayani Ekadashi 2026 Puja Muhurta
- The best time for worship on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi tomorrow is from 4:17 am to 6:10 am.
- Abhijeet Muhurta in the afternoon is also an auspicious time to worship Lord Vishnu. Abhijeet Muhurat on this day is from 12 o’clock to 12.55.
- The evening puja time is from 07:17 pm to 08:19 pm.
Devshayani Ekadashi puja method
- Wake up in the morning and take bath on Devshayani Ekadashi.
- Then wear yellow clothes. Worship Lord Vishnu with rituals.
- First of all, spread a yellow cloth on the post and place the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi.
- Then bathe Lord Vishnu with Panchamrit and Ganga water.
- Offer them yellow clothes, yellow flowers, sandalwood, roli, akshat and tulsi dal.
- Offer yellow fruits and satvik bhog to God.
- Keep in mind that there should be basil leaves in the offering.
- Chant the mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya.
- Read or listen to the fasting story of Ekadashi.
- In the end, perform Aarti with incense sticks.
