Himachal Landslide: A heart-wrenching incident came to light from Lahaul-Spiti tribal district of Himachal Pradesh on Friday. Suddenly a hill cracked near Kadu Nala on the Udaipur-Killar road, due to which a taxi going from Kullu to Pangi got hit by debris. The death of 13 people has been confirmed in this tragic accident. After the incident, relief and rescue operations have been intensified in the entire area.

The taxi came out after the road opened, an accident happened shortly after.

According to the information, Udaipur-Killar road was closed a day ago due to landslide. For this reason the passengers in the taxi were stopped at Tindi. After the road was restored on Friday, the taxi (HP-01M-2210) left for Pangi.

However, as soon as we reached near Kadu Nala, suddenly a large part of the hill collapsed and fell on the road. Within no time the entire taxi was buried under debris. The accident happened so suddenly that the people in the vehicle did not even get a chance to recover.

Death of 13 people confirmed, relief operation continues

Superintendent of Police Lahaul-Spiti Shivani Mehla has confirmed the death of 13 people in the accident. As soon as the information was received, Tindi police, local administration and rescue teams reached the spot. The operation to remove debris and rescue stranded people is being carried out on a war footing.

The rescue team has so far rescued one injured person from the debris and taken him to the hospital. The search for other passengers is going on and the help of machines is being taken to remove the heavy debris.

The administration says that all the information related to the incident will become completely clear only after the rescue operation is completed. At present the priority is to quickly reach the people trapped under the debris and complete the relief work quickly.
