New Delhi [भारत]July 23 (ANI): The first indigenous expandable turbo jet engine of 350 kg thrust class designed by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has been successfully developed. According to the release, GTRE had selected Hyderabad-based Azad Engineering as an industry partner for the manufacturing and assembly of this engine.
On July 22, the engine was successfully manufactured and handed over to GTRE by Azad Engineering, marking a historic achievement for India’s aerospace and defense ecosystem. This delivery is the result of years of precision engineering, advanced manufacturing and close partnerships between India’s scientific and industrial communities.
Only a few countries have expertise in jet engine technology
Jet engine technology has been mastered by only a few countries in the world and is considered one of the most sophisticated engineering disciplines in the world, requiring exceptional precision, advanced metallurgy and superior manufacturing standards. The delivery of such a complex system based on DRDO’s design reflects the growing technological capabilities of the Indian defense industry.
