Railways made a big change regarding high speed trains, now the salary of railway employees will increase?

Indian Railways

Taking a big decision regarding high-speed trains, Indian Railways has included 155 trains across the country in the new high-speed category. Loco pilots, guards and running staff are going to directly benefit from this decision. According to the Railway Board, now the trip allowance and mileage rate of employees operating high-speed trains will be increased. Under the new system, there is a possibility of increase in the allowances of employees by Rs 5 thousand to Rs 10 thousand.

A large number of Vande Bharat trains have been included in the list released by the Railway Board. Apart from this, Rajdhani, Duronto, Tejas, Humsafar and many superfast trains have also been kept in high-speed category. The list also includes major routes like Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat, Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani, Chennai-Bengaluru, Ajmer-Delhi and Amritsar-Delhi.

Mileage rate also increased

According to railway officials, operating high-speed trains is more challenging than normal trains. While running the train at a speed of 130 to 160 kilometers per hour, there is additional responsibility and pressure on the loco pilot and running staff. Keeping this in mind, the Railway Board has decided to increase the allowances and mileage rates of the employees. Under the new system, the mileage rate of loco pilots has been increased from Rs 485 to Rs 606 per 100 kilometers. Whereas for guards this rate has been increased from Rs 439 to Rs 549.

Railway Board has made it clear that trip allowance and allowances will be decided on the basis of grade pay of the employees and class of train. This will provide more benefits to the employees doing duty in high-speed trains. Keeping the future in mind, Railways has also decided that if in future any new train is included in the high-speed standards or there is a change in the speed and category of any train, then the Coaching Directorate will immediately update the list. It is believed that this step will prove important in further strengthening the premium and modern train network of Indian Railways.
