The BJP has launched a poster campaign against J&K CM Omar Abdullah, alleging he has been ‘missing’ for 10 days on a foreign vacation. Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma slammed the CM’s absence amid a severe water and power crisis in the state.
Amid BJP’s poster campaign against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Sunil Sharma on Saturday alleged that the people here are struggling with a water crisis and power outages, and “CM Sahab is enjoying a vacation abroad”.
The BJP leader further alleged that there has been no news of CM Omar Abdullah for the last ten days. “I am going to say something serious without involving politics. The people of J&K are worried about where their CM is. If a CM visits anywhere, the public and media generally have an idea about it… We have not seen our CM for 10 days now. There are so many problems here to be solved, and the CM is nowhere to be found… We have decided to file a missing report if he still does not appear in 1-2 days,” Sharma, the BJP MLA told ANI.
BJP’s Poster Campaign
This comes after the BJP on Friday shared missing posters of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while pointing out his absence from the state in the last ten days.
A message on J&K BJP’s official social media handle dated May 21 alleged that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been “missing for the past 10 days” जम्मू-कश्मीर के मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला पिछले 10 दिनों से लापता। pic.twitter.com/MjGmHWrBuD — BJP Jammu & Kashmir (@BJP4JnK) May 21, 2026
Sunil Sharma, in a video statement, claimed that the people of the Union Territory are concerned about the whereabouts of their Chief Minister. pic.twitter.com/oTiePuvKdT — BJP Jammu & Kashmir (@BJP4JnK) May 23, 2026
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir are searching for their Chief Minister, who has been missing for the past 10 days. It is the misfortune of Jammu and Kashmir that on one hand, the public is struggling with power outages and water shortages, while on the other, the CM Sahib is enjoying a vacation abroad,” he said on X.
