User review of the 12+256 GB variant of Samsung’s new mid-range phone A37. This phone offers excellent build quality and great software experience. Let us know about its design, display, camera and battery performance.
Samsung Galaxy A37 5G: Samsung’s A-series phones always sell well. Most of the models of this series have been adopted by the people in India. The latest model in this series is A37, which Samsung has introduced as a mid-range phone. This is a user review of the 12+256 GB variant of A37.
How is the design of Samsung Galaxy A37 5G?
We received the lavender colored model for review. Its design is the typical A-series. At first glance it is difficult to differentiate between it and the A17 model. Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection has been provided on both the front and back of the phone. There is a premium glass feel on the back side, but fingerprints get printed easily on it, which seemed to be a problem. The phone has a triple camera setup, which we will talk about later.
Coming with IP68 rating, this phone will provide good protection from water and dust. Its weight is 196 grams and thickness is only 7.4 mm. It did not feel heavy in the hands even with continuous use. Overall, the build quality of the phone is excellent.
Samsung Galaxy A37 5G display
The phone has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, which comes with 120 Hz refresh rate. The display is quite good, but at this price some other brands are offering better refresh rates. This screen gives a smooth and vibrant experience. Due to the peak brightness of 1900 nits, there was no problem in using the phone even in bright sunlight.
How is the performance and hardware of Samsung Galaxy A37 5G?
This phone also has Samsung’s own Exynos 1480 processor. To support this processor, 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage has been provided in the top variant. This is enough for everyday use and light multitasking. However, some users feel that the Exynos processor becomes slow over time. Talking about AnTuTu and benchmark scores, slightly better performance was expected from the A37 at this price.
Talking about gaming, this is not a hardcore gaming phone, still you can play heavy games on it. The device gets quite hot while playing games like ‘Call of Duty’, which is a problem. However, no significant frame drop was seen during gaming.
Talking about software, it has One UI 8.5, which is familiar. Therefore anyone can use it easily. Samsung has also included AI features in it as per the industry trend. Features like AI eraser, speech-to-text, and Bixby-Gemini integration work just fine. Additionally, Samsung is also promising 6 years of security updates.

How is the battery of Samsung Galaxy A37 5G?
The A37 has a 5000 mAh battery, which is standard in this price range. With normal usage, light gaming and some camera usage, it lasts comfortably throughout the day. Samsung’s One UI is well optimized to reduce battery consumption when the phone is not in use. The phone supports 45W fast charging and gets charged 100% in about 74 minutes. If we compare, at this price other brands are offering more watts of charging. However, Samsung’s charging philosophy is to maintain the health of the battery for a long time, that is why they have set it at 45 watts.
How is the camera of Samsung Galaxy A37 5G?
Got a decent camera experience from this phone. It has a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro lens. In daylight the main camera takes good pictures with natural colors. Due to OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), videos also become quite stable. However, wide-angle lenses do not provide as good detailing. Night photography is also good. Overall, it gives a decent camera output at this price. Some camera samples are given below.

If you want to buy a mid-range phone that has great build quality and a smooth software experience, then the Samsung A37 is a good option. This phone can also handle some photography and gaming. The display is also good and the guarantee of 6 years of software updates makes it an attractive option.
However, Samsung has missed the mark a bit in terms of pricing. The 8GB+128GB variant is priced at ₹33,899, the 8GB+256GB variant is priced at ₹38,393 and the 12GB+256GB variant we reviewed is priced at ₹48,000. Other brands are offering better specifications in this price range. Still, for those who value Samsung’s software experience and build quality, this could be a good all-rounder phone.
