India is the largest cricket market in the world. The popularity of cricket is highest in the country and this is the reason why every country not only wants to come to India and play cricket matches but also wants to host the Indian team. But now discussions have started to organize matches between different teams in India. This decision has been taken regarding Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), but Cricket Australia has surprised everyone by mentioning that the Ashes series match will be held in India.

England-Australia can play in India

The oldest and most famous series in cricket history is the Ashes. This Test series played between England and Australia is not only monitored by these two countries but also by the entire cricket world and gathers a lot of discussion. Now this series is played between Australia and England, so obviously like every bilateral series, it is also organized alternately in these two countries. But revolutionary thoughts are running in the minds of the leaders of Cricket Australia (CA).

Todd Greenberg, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Board, has created a sensation by saying this. In an interview with BBC, Greenberg said that he is ready to consider all options, including the idea of playing a Test match of the Ashes series in India. Greenberg, citing strong relations with the England Cricket Board and BCCI, said that there are more and more investment opportunities in India and he is fully ready to consider it.

There may be a revolution in Test after BBL

However, Greenberg also made it clear that at present there is no plan on CA’s agenda to play the Ashes Test in India in the coming few years. But he has expressed openness regarding this, due to which discussion can take place in the future. However, for this it is important to have the consent of the cricket boards of both the countries participating in the Ashes. Let us remind you that an agreement has been reached to organize the first match of this year’s season of Australian T20 League BBL in India. This match will be played in Chennai.
