The mystery of Twisha Sharma case deepened in Bhopal’s Katara Hills – first photo of in-laws’ terrace, second postmortem, arrest of husband Samarth Singh and dowry murder FIR made the case sensational. Suicide or a planned conspiracy? Investigation continues.
Bhopal. Katara Hills, a posh area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is in the news these days for a high-profile and very mysterious death case. As the police investigation is progressing in the case of famous actor and model Twisha Sharma’s death under suspicious circumstances, the suspense is deepening. Now the first pictures of that dreadful terrace have been revealed, where the body of 33-year-old Twisha was found hanging on May 12. India Today TV has accessed the crime scene of his in-laws’ house in Katara Hills, after which the whole case has taken a new turn. What initially appeared to be a case of suicide has now turned into serious allegations of brutal dowry murder (dowry death).
Claim of drug addiction vs dowry harassment: Two families face to face
Twisha Sharma, a resident of Noida, was married in Bhopal, but her suspicious death shortly after the marriage has raised many serious questions. There is a world of difference between the statements of Twisha’s in-laws and her parents in this matter. While on one hand Twisha’s in-laws claim that she was seriously struggling with substance abuse and due to depression she took the suicidal step, on the other hand Twisha’s maternal family have rejected these allegations outright.

Twisha’s parents allege that their daughter was continuously being physically and mentally tortured for huge dowry since her marriage. Due to this torture his daughter’s life has been taken. At present, amidst this legal and forensic tussle, Twisha’s body has been kept safe in the mortuary of AIIMS Bhopal.

Big intervention of High Court: Special team of AIIMS Delhi will do ‘second postmortem’
There was a big explosion in this controversial case on Friday when Madhya Pradesh High Court directly intervened in this case. Twisha’s family had raised serious concerns over the impartiality of the initial post-mortem and called for an independent forensic investigation. While hearing the family’s petition, the High Court ordered that second post-mortem of Twisha’s body be conducted.

This time, instead of giving the responsibility to the local doctors, this responsibility has been handed over to a special forensic team of the country’s most prestigious institute, AIIMS Delhi. The head of the forensic medicine department of AIIMS Delhi has also confirmed that they are fully prepared for this sensitive re-po postmortem as per the court order. Only this second report will clarify whether it was a suicide or a well-planned conspiracy.
Lawyer husband was absconding for a week, police caught him early in the morning
On the day of the High Court order, Bhopal Police achieved another major success. Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh, who was absconding for more than a week after her death, was finally taken into custody by the police. Samarth Singh was brought to Katara Hills police station in Bhopal around 2 am on Saturday. The police is now preparing to present Samarth in the court and demand his custodial remand so that the truth of this dreadful night can be revealed.
Legal grip on influential family:
- Main accused Samarth Singh: The lawyer is the son of former judge and currently chairperson of Bhopal Consumer Court Giribala Singh.
- Co-accused Giribala Singh: Samarth’s mother and former judge Giribala Singh has got anticipatory bail in this case, but she is also a co-accused in the case.
- Sections of registered FIR: Bhopal Police have registered a case against the duo under sections 80(2) (dowry death), 85 (cruelty by husband or in-laws), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) as well as serious sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
After the revelation of the photographs of the terrace and the arrest of the influential husband, now all eyes are on the forensic report of AIIMS Delhi, which will expose the real culprit behind this mysterious death.
