SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of using ‘invisible weapons’ to disrupt social harmony. He demanded a thorough legal and financial scrutiny of their properties, funding sources, benami assets, and the foreign travel of its ‘associates’.
Launching a direct offensive against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological affiliates, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday alleged that “invisible weapons” were being used to disrupt social harmony and demanded a thorough legal and financial scrutiny of their properties, funding sources and foreign travel.
Taking to X, Akhilesh Yadav shared a series of statements raising questions on the functioning, finances and alleged activities of BJP members and associated organisations, suggesting that “secret activities” were being carried out using unaccounted resources.

“Real weapons require licenses, but there are some invisible weapons as well, which are secretly launching extremely lethal attacks from within on the country, society, and mutual love,” Yadav said.
He further demanded that documents related to properties, establishments, offices and business premises linked to BJP members be examined for validity and compliance.
“The documents and plans of BJP members’ homes, shops, offices, and establishments should be summoned, and their validity should also be checked,” Yadav stated.
The SP chief also called for a strict financial audit of donations and funds collected by the BJP and its affiliated organisations for events, construction work and disaster relief activities.
“An account should be demanded of the various kinds of donations and funds collected ‘from all over the place’ in the name of constructions, events, and disasters by the BJP and their associates, and an audit should be conducted,” he added.
Raising concerns over alleged benami assets, Yadav questioned how unregistered individuals and entities were acquiring land and carrying out construction activities, and who was financing such developments.
“How do ‘unregistered’ people take land in whose name and carry out their constructions, and how are these properties not benami? Who foots the bill for these illegal ‘associates’? A raw ledger of this should be dug up and exposed,” the SP chief remarked.
He also raised questions over foreign travel by individuals he referred to as “associates”, alleging long-standing concerns regarding their roles and intentions.
“Why do these so-called indigenous ‘associates’ go on foreign trips? Since the colonial era, whose puppets have these ‘associates’ been? Why has the history of these ‘associates’ been one of informership? Why do these ‘associates’ spoil social harmony?” Yadav asked.
Akhilesh Yadav further alleged that a conspiracy was underway to disturb society and undermine democratic values, questioning what he described as attempts to target “dignity of the mind”.
“Now, under what new conspiracy are these ‘associates’ getting lathis swung at the ‘dignity of the mind’?” he said.
Yadav attacks Centre’s economic policies
Earlier on May 20, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Central government, alleging that its economic policies have weakened India’s industries and increased dependence on foreign companies.
Yadav claimed that India no longer figures among the world’s top 100 companies and accused the ruling BJP of following “commission-driven” policies that, according to him, have harmed sectors ranging from manufacturing and agriculture to IT, banking, MSMEs, textiles, healthcare and services.
He alleged that rising inflation, unemployment, and falling demand have pushed the economy into distress, while also claiming that small shopkeepers have been badly affected due to online platforms and policy failures.
In a post on X, Yadav wrote, “News: None of India’s companies remains in the list of the world’s top 100 companies anymore. This is the pernicious fallout of the BJP’s corrupt economic policies. The BJP’s commission-driven dealings have weakened every company, as a result of which everything from raw materials to finished goods, agricultural and industrial production, has been severely impacted; consequently, India’s share-bullion market, banks, insurance, marketing, management, IT-software, transportation, MSME, FMCG, textiles, healthcare, lifestyle, communication, trading, and service sectors have all been pushed to the brink of ruin.”
The SP chief further said that rising prices of petrol, diesel and gas, along with issues related to GST and foreign policy, have contributed to a weakening rupee and increased cost of living.
Yadav also accused the government of failing to create adequate government jobs and said that exports and foreign exchange reserves have been impacted. (ANI)
