Prime Video has released the trailer for ‘Vought Rising,’ a prequel to ‘The Boys.’ Set in the 1950s, the series will explore the origins of Vought and Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles. The show is scheduled for a 2027 release.
‘The Boys’ may have ended with its fifth and final season this week, but there’s still more left to explore in the Vought Cinematic Universe. The trailer of the prequel, ‘Vought Rising’, was finally released on Friday. Going back to 1950s New York City to show the evil origins of Vought and Jensen’s Soldier Boy, which was widely loved by the fans of Boys. The trailer shows Soldier Boy suiting up for the first time in a retro costume as scientists at the evil psychiatric hospital Sage Grove Center, seen in ‘The Boys,’ experiment on giving people powers. It also shows Soldier Boy teaming up with Aya Cash’s Stormfront for the first time. Prime Video shared the trailer on its Instagram handle today. ‘Vought Rising’ Cast Details
According to Variety, the cast includes Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.
Dye returns as the supe Bombsight, who appeared in Season 5 and briefly battled Soldier Boy before giving up his super strength and immortality caused by the V1 serum. Posey plays a nurse-inspired supe named Private Angel, and Hochman plays Torpedo.
Production and Release Information
In addition to starring, Ackles and Cash also produce “Vought Rising,” which releases in 2027.
Paul Grellong will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr and Jim Barnes also serve as executive producers in the series.
It is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
