The government has now officially recommended handing over the command of this entire ‘dowry death’ case to the country’s largest investigating agency i.e. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This entire incident has come to light today just before a very important hearing to be held in Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur. According to sources, the state government has made up its mind to support the victim’s family with all its might inside the court. The suspense inside the court room increased further when it became clear that the Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh himself would appear before the court directly to present the state government’s case. Not only this, considering the seriousness of this high-profile case, the Central Government will also register its presence in the court through the Solicitor General.
Special order in the name of MP Governor: That ‘confidential’ notification of the Home Department!
The Home Department of Madhya Pradesh has issued a very strict official notification in this regard. In exercise of the special powers conferred under Section 6 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946, the State Government has given formal approval in the name of the Governor to extend the jurisdiction of CBI to the entire state. This order, signed by Home Department Secretary Krishnaveni Deshawatu, makes it clear that the CBI will not only investigate the death, but will also thoroughly investigate every aspect of the deep criminal conspiracy behind it, harassment for dowry and abetment of suicide.

Copies of this order have been sent with immediate effect to all the top officials including the Joint Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Union Home Secretary, the CBI Director based in New Delhi and the Director General of Police (DGP) of Madhya Pradesh for prompt action. In fact, Twisha’s in-laws were alleging that her ex-judge mother-in-law and renowned lawyer husband were trying to weaken the local police investigation by using their high contacts and influence. But now with the case diary going directly to the central agency, all avenues of escape for the accused seem to be closed.
