PM Modi Birthday: On 17 September 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 75th birthday. When he became the Prime Minister of the country for the first time, he was 64 years old. 1- Jan Dhan Yojana
The Modi government first launched Jan Dhan Yojana. The aim was to provide banking facility to every poor family. Bank accounts of more than 50 crore people were opened under this scheme. Earlier, people who had no connection with the bank, now they also got directly connected to the banking system. The scheme proved to be the biggest step towards financial inclusion.
2- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which started in 2014, became not just a scheme, but a mass movement. People from villages to cities participated in it. The problem of open defecation was reduced, the availability of clean drinking water increased and people’s thinking also changed. This attempt to connect cleanliness with health and respect was historic.
3- Ayushman Bharat Scheme
The Ayushman Bharat scheme is called the world’s largest health insurance scheme. Under this, free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh was provided to more than 50 crore people. The scheme saved poor families from financial burden and made it possible to treat serious diseases.
4- Applying GST
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) was implemented in 2017 to simplify India’s complex tax system. Earlier, different states had different tax rates, but GST converted the entire country into a tax system. This was considered to be the biggest improvement for trade and industry.
5- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
The Modi government launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 2015. Under this, more than 4 crore houses were constructed. The aim of this scheme was to provide pucca houses to the poor, laborers and middle class families.
6- Ujjwala scheme
Even today in rural areas, women used to cook food on wood and cow dung stove, which affected health. To eliminate this, the government started the Ujjwala scheme. Under this, more than 10 crore families were given free LPG gas connections. This reduced pollution and health related problems.
7- Make in India
The Make in India campaign was launched in 2014 to make India a manufacturing hub. This campaign not only attracted foreign investment, but also strengthened domestic industries. Employment opportunities increased and India’s image strengthened globally.
8- Digital India

9- Prime Minister Kisan Award Fund

10- Namami Gange Project
The Namami Gange project was a major environmental initiative of the Modi government. 2.7 crore people out of poverty in 11 years
According to the World Bank report, India has achieved tremendous success in reducing poverty in the last 11 years. In the year 2011-12, about 27 percent of the people in the country were very poor, which has now come down to only 5.3 percent. This means that about 2.7 crore people have come out of poverty. The World Bank has also told that if we look at the poverty line of $ 3 per day, the number of poor has come down from 3.44 crores to close to 75 lakhs. This number is even less at the old scale i.e. $ 2.15 per day.
Some special states showed amazing progress
In 2011-12, 65 percent of the country’s poorest people lived in big states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. These states have contributed the most in reducing poverty. That is, where the most needed was, there has also been the most improvement.
Plans changed the picture
Many schemes of the government have played an important role in this success. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana helped to build a house, the Ujjwala scheme gave clean fuels, the Jan Dhan Yojana provided banking services to the people and Ayushman Bharat delivered free healthcare.
