Supporting actor Hemant alias Nagindas Parshottamdas Modi Vaishnav, who was seen in many films, web series and TV shows, was actually found guilty of murder. Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested the 53 year old accused after 12 years. According to the police, he had absconded after coming out on parole in 2014. Surprisingly, during his absconding, he changed his name and continued working in the film industry. The accused has also appeared in the films of stars like Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan and Sunny Deol.
The accused was absconding for 12 years
Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested Hemant alias Nagindas Parshottamdas Modi Vaishnav on Wednesday. According to the police, he was serving life imprisonment in a murder case that took place in Naroda area of Ahmedabad in 2005. A case was registered against him under section 135(1) of the BP Act along with sections 302, 324, 147, 148, 149 and 120(B) of the IPC. He absconded after getting parole in 2014.

The Crime Branch had received information on Wednesday that the accused had come to Ahmedabad. After this the police arrested him near Ghikanta metro station. According to news agency ANI, Crime Branch officer said, “Yesterday, Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested an accused named Hemant Nagindas Modi, who was absconding for 12 years after breaking parole. He was guilty in a murder case and remained in jail till 2014. After this he absconded. During this time, the accused kept playing different roles in the film industry and was also very active on social media. Many of his web series were also released.” The police have sent the accused to Mehsana jail to complete the remaining sentence.

According to the police, during the absconding, the accused had changed his name and started working as a supporting actor in the film industry. He has been active in films, web series, TV shows and plays in Hindi, Gujarati and other languages. Police said that even during his absconding, he maintained a very active and visible career. Hemant has been a part of many big films. According to reports, she has worked in Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’, Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur’s ‘Metro In Din’ and Mohanlal-Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer ‘L2 Empuraan’. His upcoming films also include Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s ‘Lahore 1947’. Apart from this, he has also been seen in TV shows like ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’ and ‘Mere Sai’.
