IPL 2026 Orange Cap Updated List: The 66th match of IPL 2026 was played between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). GT knocked CSK out of the playoff race by thrashing CSK by 89 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
GT scored 229/4 on Thursday. In reply, Chennai team was all out for 140 runs in 13.4 overs. This is CSK’s biggest defeat in terms of runs in IPL. Gujarat not only got a resounding victory but opening batsman Sai Sudarshan once again got the orange cap. He has topped the list of players scoring the most runs in the ongoing season. He has scored 638 runs in 14 matches at an average of 49.07, which includes one century and seven half-centuries. Sudarshan scored 84 runs against CSK in 53 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes.

GT captain Shubhman Gill was heartbroken. Actually, Gill had won the Orange Cap during his innings but in the end Sudarshan was successful in winning the match. Gill scored 64 runs in 37 balls, which included seven fours and three sixes. He made a strong partnership of 125 runs with Sudarshan. GT Captain has added 616 runs in 13 matches so far in IPL 2026. His average was 47.38. Gill scored 6 half-centuries. Gujarat has already reached the playoffs. Gujarat defeated Chennai to retain its place in the top two in the points table.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi has slipped two places to third place. He was number-1 in the Orange Cap race before the CSK vs GT match. He has scored 579 runs in 13 matches, with an average of 44.53. 15-year-old Suryavanshi has scored three half-centuries and one century. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batsman Virat Kohli remains at sixth position. He has scored 542 runs in 13 matches. His average is 54.20. Kohli has scored one century and four half-centuries. Kohli can jump into the race today. RCB will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday. SRH’s Abhishek Sharma (507 runs in 13 matches) and Heinrich Klaasen (555 runs in 13 matches) will also have a chance to progress.
