State government employees set world record with blood donation drive on PM Modi’s birthday eve

New Delhi: Marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday eve with an unprecedented gesture, state government employee unions across India organized a record-breaking blood donation campaign on Tuesday. The initiative, titled “Namo ke naam raktdan”, was linked to the success of Operation Sindoor and witnessed overwhelming participation from government workers.

According to Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, 378 mega blood donation camps were set up nationwide, collecting a staggering 56,265 units of blood in a single day. Sanghavi described the event as “a historic moment in India,” adding that it was the first time in the country’s history that government employees had come together to hold such a massive drive in honor of a leader’s birthday.

In a post on X, he wrote, “On the success of #OperationSindoor and Honourable PM @narendramodi’s Birthday, State Government employee unions have set a world record with ‘Namo ke naam raktdan’. They organized 378 mega blood donation camps, collecting a massive 56,265 units of blood! This is the first time in Indian history such a huge blood donation drive has been organized by government employees for a leader’s birthday.”
