Bengaluru Police is investigating whether a 25-year-old accused used Google Gemini to plan the murder of his live-in partner’s parents and sister.
There has been a surprising turn in the investigation of a triple murder case in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Police sources allege that the main accused had repeatedly taken the help of an AI chatbot to plan the murders. The accused has been identified as 25-year-old Kenneth. He is accused of killing the parents and younger sister of his live-in partner Shweta in Bengaluru’s KR Puram area on June 22.
According to India Today TV and other reports, police sources said Kenneth used Google Gemini for about six months. Now investigators are examining these digital clues to understand how the chatbot was used and whether the conversations could help understand the events leading up to the murders. This case has attracted attention because of the alleged use of AI chatbots in planning a serious crime.
Police allegation: Use of AI during planning
According to police sources, Kenneth did not directly ask the chatbot ‘how to commit the murder’ or ‘how to dispose of the body’. Rather, investigators allege he used imaginary situations to obtain information.
Police sources told India Today TV that Kenneth allegedly asked questions such as ‘what should a person do if something happens’ or ‘how should one respond to an attack’?

Investigators believe that in this manner he might have obtained the information without revealing his intentions. Police sources also claimed that Kenneth also asked questions related to weapons, violence and other aspects which investigators believe could be related to the crime.
Police have reportedly said that Google Gemini was the only AI platform that Kenneth used during his planning. However, what was the reality of the conversation and how much impact it had on his work, will become clear only after investigation.

Six months planning, reason behind money dispute
According to The Indian Express, police records show that the alleged plan to kill Shweta’s family was hatched over several months. Investigators believe that money dispute could be a major reason behind this.
Police sources said that Shweta had borrowed around Rs 50 lakh from her parents for Kenneth’s cloud kitchen business. This money reportedly vanished, while the family later started demanding the money back. Investigators suspect that due to this increasing financial pressure, Kenneth started seeing Shweta’s family as a problem.
Police allege that instead of resolving the dispute, he started planning the murders. Investigators believe he also discovered ways to dispose of the bodies after the murders.
According to police sources, Kenneth had purchased an iron furnace for his cloud kitchen. Police allege that he considered using this furnace to dispose of the dead bodies, but later he did not find this plan practical. Now investigators are trying to find out whether her conversations with the AI chatbot were linked to these plans.
Accused of murder of three family members
Police allege that the murders took place on June 22. According to the investigation, Kenneth first called Shwetha’s mother, 48-year-old Muthulakshmi, to the apartment and attacked her with a knife.
Police allege that when her husband, 55-year-old Somsundar, and younger daughter, 20-year-old Supriya, reached there separately, they were also attacked.
All three members of the family died in this incident. In this case, the dying declaration given by Somsundar is being considered an important evidence.
According to The Times of India, despite suffering multiple knife attacks, Somsundar somehow managed to reach the stairs. Neighbors informed the police after seeing his condition. This statement will be an important part of the investigation.
Accused and partner absconding after murder
Police allege that Kenneth and Shweta later took cash and silver jewelery from the family home. After this both left Bengaluru and went to Puducherry.
The police arrested him on June 24, two days after the murders. The investigators are also probing Shweta’s role in this case. According to police sources, he is suspected of helping Kenneth in the murders. His real role and the evidence against him will become clear only as the investigation progresses.
Police asked for Gemini chat history
Now the investigation has turned towards digital evidence. According to The Times of India, Bengaluru Police has contacted Google and asked for Kenneth’s Gemini chat history. Investigators believe that this conversation can help in understanding the preparation of the accused and whether he used the chatbot while planning the murders.
Police are interested in knowing how often he used the chatbot, what kind of questions he asked and whether the conversations matched other evidence found during the investigation.
Police described the case as ‘unusual’
According to The Indian Express, a senior police officer reportedly said that investigators were considering treating Kenneth as almost an ‘accomplice’ given his reliance on the AI chatbot.
This comment did not mean that any criminal case would be filed against the AI tool. Rather, it emphasizes how unusual the evidence is that investigators are examining.
Psychological investigation also continues
Kenneth’s personal and mental condition has also been taken into consideration in the investigation. According to a report in Kannada newspaper ‘Udayavani’, police assessment revealed that Kenneth was socially isolated and had also gone through a break-up.
Police sources also alleged that Shweta supported him financially and limited his contact with friends and family. The investigators are probing all these aspects.
An unusual question for investigators
The Bengaluru case has raised questions about how law enforcement agencies should deal with AI-related digital evidence in criminal investigations. In this case, the police are trying to find out what Kenneth allegedly asked, when he asked it and whether those things had any direct connection with the triple murder.
The police investigation is ongoing, examining digital evidence as well as statements of witnesses, alleged dying declarations and other material collected in the case. The alleged role of AI may be one of the most unusual aspects of this investigation.
