Jyeshtha Adhik Purnima 2026 Shubh Muhurat: Purnima Tithi is considered to have special significance in Sanatan Dharma, but when this Purnima falls in Adhikamas, its importance increases manifold. In the year 2026, Adhikamas is falling in the month of Jyeshtha, which is also known as Purushottam month. In such a situation, the full moon of this month will be called Jyeshtha Adhik Purnima. According to religious beliefs, by bathing, fasting and worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day, one attains inexhaustible virtues and the troubles of life are removed. The full moon of Adhikamas has also been called Sarvasiddhidayini Purnima in the scriptures. It is believed that the results of religious activities done on this day are multiplied. This is the reason why people consider bathing in Ganga, charity and Vishnu worship to be of special importance on this day.
When is Jyestha Adhik Purnima 2026?
According to the Panchang, the full moon date of Jyeshtha Adhikamas will begin on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:57 am. It will end on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 2:14 pm. According to Udayatithi, the main festival of Snan-Daan and Purnima will be celebrated on 31 May 2026. Whereas Purnima fast will be observed on Saturday, May 30.
Jyeshtha Adhik Purnima 2026 Snan-Daan Muhurat
On the day of Jyeshtha Adhik Purnima, many auspicious times are being created for bathing and donation. There is a religious belief that charity done during these auspicious times brings special results. On this day, the first bath and donation is in Brahma Muhurta from 4:34 am to 5:17 am. Then Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 12.10 pm to 1.03 pm. Lastly, Vijay Muhurta will be from 2:48 pm to 3:41 pm. These three Muhurtas are considered very auspicious for bathing, charity and worship of Lord Vishnu.
Religious significance of Jyeshtha Adhik Purnima
In Hindu religion, Adhikamas is considered a month dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Therefore, the importance of the full moon coming in this month increases even more. It is believed that by worshiping Lord Vishnu properly on this day, poverty, diseases and mental troubles are removed from a person’s life. Apart from this, worshiping Moon God gives peace to the mind and reduces mental stress. According to religious texts, by bathing in the holy river on this day and donating, one attains salvation and the sins of previous births are destroyed.
What to do on Jyeshtha Adhik Purnima?
On this day, wake up early in the morning and take bath and if possible, take bath in a holy river. After this, worship Lord Vishnu and offer him yellow flowers, Tulsi leaves, fruits and Panchamrit. Chanting Vishnu Sahasranama and Shri Hari Mantras is also considered very auspicious. It is considered auspicious to donate food, water, clothes, umbrella, barley, sattu and money to needy people on the day of full moon. Donating water and fan has also been given special importance in the summer season.

According to astrological beliefs, on the day of Adhik Purnima, lighting a ghee lamp under the Peepal tree and chanting the mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya brings special blessings of Lord Vishnu. People suffering from Chandra Dosh can get benefit by offering Arghya of raw milk to the Moon.
