Modi @ 75: Prime Minister tops world approval charts with 75%, ahead of global leaders

New Delhi: At the cusp of 75, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to hold the top spot in global popularity rankings, with a new survey placing his approval at an impressive 75 per cent.

The poll, run by US data firm Morning Consult between July 4 and 10, compares the standing of democratic leaders across major countries. Modi’s rating put him well ahead of the pack. South Korea’s President Lee Jae-myung followed at 59 per cent, while Argentina’s Javier Milei took third place with 57 per cent.

The tracker is updated weekly and takes into account the views of adults in each country. For the Prime Minister of India, now more than a decade into his premiership, the numbers confirm that Modi’s appeal has not dimmed. After winning a third straight term in May 2024, he remains both a dominant force at home and a figure of rising international heft.

The survey also offered a snapshot of other leaders. US President Donald Trump, back in office since last year, was ranked eighth with 44 per cent support. The wide gap highlights how Modi’s approval distinguishes him in the current global landscape.

This moment of recognition has arrived alongside a personal milestone. PM Modi has now logged 4,079 days in office, overtaking Indira Gandhi to become India’s second-longest serving Prime Minister without a break. Only Jawaharlal Nehru served longer.

For his supporters, the figures serve as a reminder of his enduring presence and the story he continues to shape — of a leader who, despite the passing years, still commands broad trust at home and abroad.
