Assam ACS Officer Nupur Bora: Major action has been taken against corruption in Assam. The Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell raided the house of Assam Civil Service officer Nupur Bora and recovered about Rs 90 lakh cash and gold ornaments worth more than Rs 1 crore.
Assam ACS Officer Nupur Bora: On Monday, Assam Police arrested ACS officer Nupur Bora for allegedly possessing more assets. A team of officials raided the house in Guwahati, from which about 90 lakh rupees in cash and gold jewels of more than Rs 1 crore have been recovered. Apart from this, the police had also raided the rented site of his barpeta.
Who is Nupur Bora?
Nupur Bora is a resident of Golaghat. In 2019, she joined Assam Civil Service and was currently posted as Circle Officer in Goroari in Kamarup district. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he was being monitored for the last 6 months after receiving a lot of complaints from Nupur Bora in disputed land cases.

The eye was being kept for 6 months
Sarma said, “When she was posted in Barpeta Revenue Circle, this officer had transferred the land of Hindus to suspects in exchange for money. We have taken strict action against him.” The Chief Minister said that corruption is very high in the revenue divisions of minority dominated areas. The Special Vigilance Cell also raided the house of Lat Mandal Surjit Deka, the alleged colleague of Nupur Bora. Deka works in the Revenue Board Office of Barpeta. He is accused of grabbing several lands with Nupur Bora while being a divisional officer in Barpeta.
