CM Yogi Adityanath PWD Meeting: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave strict instructions on the quality and timeliness of development works in the review meeting of PWD. New proposals have been sought from every district. Road, helipad and connectivity projects will be progressed rapidly in the state.

The government now appears to be in a more aggressive mode regarding roads, bridges and connectivity in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a clear message that delay, negligence and poor quality in development works will not be accepted at any cost. On Wednesday, in the review meeting of the action plan of the year 2026-27 of the Public Works Department (PWD), the Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the officials and said that every project should be completed within the stipulated time and there should be no compromise on quality.

All the District Magistrates, Ministers and public representatives of the state participated in this big meeting held through video conferencing. During the meeting, the Chief Minister laid special emphasis on monitoring of development schemes, rural and urban connectivity, construction of helipads and use of new technologies.

Send development proposal within a week

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that development proposals should be prepared from every district of the state according to local needs and sent to the government within a week. He said that the process of approving these proposals will be completed in the first week of June. The CM asked the District Magistrates to hold a meeting with the public representatives and finalize the schemes on priority basis so that the benefits of the development works reach the people directly.

Public representatives will not be held responsible

Making an important comment in the meeting, the Chief Minister said that public representatives cannot be held responsible for departmental shortcomings or mistakes of contractors. He clearly said that it will be the responsibility of the concerned departmental officers to ensure quality and timely completion of the construction works. The Chief Minister also directed that programs like Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying should be conducted with the help of the concerned public representatives.

Nodal officer will be appointed for every project

The Chief Minister said that a separate nodal officer should be appointed for every project running in the state. This officer will conduct regular inspections and keep an eye on the quality of work. He directed the Public Works Department to send a separate team to every district to conduct on-site inspection of the construction works so that the actual situation can be independently reviewed.

Helipad will be built in every block and tehsil

CM Yogi issued major instructions keeping in mind disaster management and health services. He said that helipads should be built near every block, tehsil and district headquarters. According to the Chief Minister, helipads prove to be very useful in natural disasters, medical emergencies and security related situations. He also directed to hand over the responsibility of their maintenance to the Public Works Department.

Emphasis on adopting new technology in road construction

Referring to the rising cost of fuel and bitumen due to global conditions, the Chief Minister advised the department to adopt technological innovations. He said that high quality CC roads should be built as per requirement on rural roads up to two kilometers long. Apart from this, instructions were also given to give priority to Cement Treated Base (CTSB) and Cement Treated Subbase technology in road construction so that roads can become more durable and economical.

Instructions to increase the speed of “CM Grid” scheme

Reviewing the “CM Grid” scheme of the Urban Development Department, the Chief Minister said that its pace should be accelerated for better connectivity in urban areas. He directed that strong roads and connectivity should be ensured to the localities and colonies.

More than 30 thousand proposals were received

Departmental officials informed in the meeting that so far more than 30 thousand proposals have been received for the year 2026-27. The Chief Minister said that all these proposals should be prioritized and implemented in a phased manner so that the benefits of development reach the last person. This review meeting of the state government is being seen as a big infrastructure strategy for the coming years. The government is trying to create a fast and balanced development model in the state by combining roads, bridges, digital connectivity and disaster management.
