Tata Motors will launch its new premium EV sub-brand ‘Avinya’ by 2027. The first model of this series based on the Gen 3 platform will be the ‘Avinya X’ coupe-SUV. It is expected to be priced at over ₹35 lakh and have a range of over 500km.
taTa Motors is preparing to explode the market with its new premium EV sub-brand ‘Tata Avinya’. This car may make its first glimpse in the second half of the financial year 2027 (i.e. between October 2026 and March 2027). There are also reports that the first production-ready Avinya EV may be presented at the ‘Bharat Mobility Global Expo’ to be held in New Delhi from 4 to 9 February 2027. It is believed that the Tata Avinya line-up may include five models codenamed P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5.
Platform and price
All the electric vehicles of the Avinya series will be based on the Gen 3 Skateboard platform. This architecture has been specially designed to provide maximum space in the cabin, completely flat floor and styling looks futuristic. The first model to come under the Avinya brand will be the ‘Avinya X’ coupe-SUV, the concept of which was shown at the 2025 Auto Expo. It is estimated that its ex-showroom price could be more than Rs 35 lakh.
Will something special happen?
The look of Avinya X Concept is quite futuristic. It has muscular body panels, sharp windscreen at the front and rear and high ground clearance. It has a glowing ‘T’ logo on the front and back. Two thin horizontal LED DRL strips with matrix technology are also provided for better illumination at night. The gloss black finish on the bumper further enhances its premium look. The coupe-SUV also gets larger dual-tone wheels and a different color finish on the C-pillar.
Inside the concept car, a floating central touchscreen infotainment system has been provided like the Range Rover SUV. There is also a thin screen band on the dashboard, which serves as the instrument cluster. The Avinya
Talking about the features, this electric coupe-SUV is expected to have capabilities like ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, multi-zone auto AC, wireless phone charger, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle). However, the company has not yet given official information about the powertrain. But the Avinya EV is expected to come with a larger battery pack, which will be able to cover a range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge.
