Dhurandhar and  have set new records for Indian cinema. Now, the franchise has entered global film conversations after comments from Hollywood actor John Krasinski. The actor recently spoke about Indian cinema and reacted to the growing popularity of Ranveer Singh’s latest film, which has been gaining attention beyond India after its theatrical and streaming success. While Krasinski admitted he has not yet watched Dhurandhar, he praised Indian filmmaking and expressed interest in seeing the film in the future. The actor also praised Indian films and their consistent good quality.

John Krasinski portrays CIA analyst in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and goes by the character of the same name. He was recently asked about Dhurandhar and the current state of Indian cinema during an interaction with the media. The actor acknowledged that he had not watched the film yet but spoke positively about filmmaking coming out of India. According to Krasinski, many filmmakers in Hollywood closely follow Indian cinema and admire the scale and creativity of projects being produced.

“I haven’t seen the film. But as far as Indian films at large, some of the most cutting-edge movie making that we have,” said Jon. He added that a lot of his filmmaker friends are constantly and consistently ‘blown away’ by films coming out from India. Krasinski also said he would be interested in watching Dhurandhar if given the opportunity because he will be ‘inspired’ by it. “Of course. I love watching anything. It’s always inspiring to see what everybody else is doing,” the actor added.

Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an undercover spy operating on dangerous missions linked to national security. The star-studded supporting cast of the film includes Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor and Gaurav Gera. The film as well as its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge have generated strong box office numbers. While the first film collected Rs 1,307 crore worldwide, the second one created a Tsunami. It earned around Rs 1,800 crore. With these epic milestones, both movies, directed by Aditya Dhar, turned out to be blockbusters.

While Krasinski stopped short of directly comparing Dhurandhar to Hollywood spy franchises, his remarks clearly show the growing influence of Indian cinema among international actors and filmmakers. If the top directors in Hollywood are getting impressed and constantly looking out for Indian releases, our film industries must be doing something right!
