CM Yogi Big Statement on Roadside Namaz: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi has given a big statement regarding offering Namaz in public places and on the roads. He clearly said that roads are not for any religious event but for the movement of common people. If Namaz has to be offered then people should do it at their homes or religious places.
Speaking at a program of a private media house, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that offering Namaz on the roads is no longer allowed in Uttar Pradesh and the government will not compromise on law and order. After his statement, a new debate has started in political and social circles.
‘Roads are for walking, not for creating obstacles’
CM Yogi said that people often ask him whether Namaz is still offered on the streets in Uttar Pradesh. On this he said, “It absolutely does not happen.” He said that roads are for the convenience of common citizens and no one can be given the right to block public roads. The Chief Minister said that offering Namaz or any kind of crowd on the road affects the movement of common people. Raising the question, he said that if a person blocks the road by standing at the intersection, it causes problems to sick people, employees, businessmen and common travelers.

‘If the number is more then offer Namaz in shifts’
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also said in his statement that if the number of people offering Namaz is high in any area, then people can offer Namaz on shift basis. He said that Namaz can be offered by making arrangements in homes or religious places. CM Yogi said, “If there is less space in the house then control the number. If there is no capacity then why increase the number unnecessarily.” He also said that to live in the society, all citizens will have to follow the same rules and regulations.
‘Will not allow anarchy to spread on the streets’
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government will not tolerate any kind of anarchy in public places. He said that the administration first tries to convince the people, but if the rules are not followed then the government will also take action as per law. The most talked about part of his statement was the one in which he said, “If you agree with love then it is okay, if you don’t agree then we will adopt another method.” Political reactions may also intensify regarding this statement.
Law is equal for everyone: CM Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh will apply equally to all citizens. He clarified that the government is not against any particular religion, but is emphasizing on maintaining public order. He said that roads are for the convenience of a common citizen, patients, employees, laborers and traders. In such a situation, the government will ensure that traffic and movement is not disrupted due to any religious or social activity.
