A bogie of Patna passenger train caught fire at Sasaram station in Bihar. This is the second such incident in 2 days. All the passengers are safe and a major accident was averted by separating the burning bogie.
Patna: This is the second major incident of fire in Indian Railways trains in the last two days. On Saturday, a bogie of Bihar’s Sasaram-Patna passenger train caught fire. Earlier, an incident of fire in Thiruvananthapuram-Delhi Rajdhani Express was reported near Madhya Pradesh. This accident happened just before the departure of the train from Sasaram station.
All passengers safe, major accident averted
The incident took place on platform number 6 of Sasaram railway station, when the train was about to leave for Patna. Passengers had boarded the train and it was about to open when suddenly flames started rising from one of the bogies. After this there was chaos at the station.
As soon as the information was received, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and fire brigade teams immediately reached the spot and started rescue operations. First of all all the passengers were taken out of the train safely. It is fortunate that no passenger was harmed in this accident.
Due to the wisdom of the railway staff, the burning bogie was immediately separated from the rest of the train, due to which the fire could not spread to other bogies and a major accident was averted. Due to the fire, dense smoke filled the entire station, due to which some passengers felt a little uneasy due to the smoke. Later the passengers were sent out of the station. Due to this incident, there was an atmosphere of chaos for some time at Sasaram station. This also affected other trains passing through this route and many trains ran late.
Second case after the Madhya Pradesh incident
Let us tell you that two days ago, a fire broke out in the Rajdhani Express going from Thiruvananthapuram in Madhya Pradesh to Nizamuddin in Delhi. In that incident also, the fire was detected in time due to the alertness of the railway guard. The guard immediately informed the loco pilot, after which the train was stopped by applying emergency brakes and all the passengers were rescued safely.
