New Delhi: At least nine people were killed while three others suffered serious injuries after a speeding truck collided head-on with a Tata Magic vehicle on National Highway-730 in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Monday morning.
The accident took place between Unchgaon and Bharehta areas under the Isanagar police station limits.
According to reports, the Tata Magic vehicle was travelling from Lakhimpur to Sisaiya when a truck coming from the Bahraich side allegedly lost control and rammed into it.
The impact of the collision was so severe that nine occupants of the vehicle died on the spot, while three others suffered serious injuries.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
