Till now, the record of hitting most sixes as an Indian batsman in a season of IPL was held in the name of Abhishek Sharma, which he made while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024. Now Vaibhav Suryavanshi has broken this record. Abhishek Sharma had hit a total of 42 sixes for SRH in 2024, while as soon as Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit the third six in his innings against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Abhishek Sharma’s record was broken.
If we look at Indian batsmen, now Vaibhav Suryavanshi is on top. Abhishek Sharma is in second place. Shreyas Iyer had hit 39 sixes in 2025. He is at number three in this list. At fourth and fifth position is Virat Kohli, who has hit 38-38 sixes in 2016 and 2024. Suryakumar Yadav has hit 38 sixes in 2025. He is resting at sixth position.

Jos Buttler hit 45 sixes for Rajasthan Royals in 2022, while Chris Gayle is again a part of this list with 44 sixes. Now Vaibhav Suryavanshi is at number six, who can soon leave Chris Gayle behind.
