Madhya Pradesh Petrol Price Expensive: More expensive petrol and diesel is being sold in Madhya Pradesh than across the country. However, fuel rates are not low in Rajasthan-Maharashtra and Gujarat. But the per liter prices in MP are shocking. There are not just one or two but five reasons for selling such expensive fuel, due to which the common man is paying such a high price.
After the increase in the price of crude oil across the world due to the US-Iran war, the prices of petroleum products are continuously rising. Now the prices of petrol and diesel have increased in India too, which became applicable in the entire country from May 15. But the most expensive fuel is being sold in Madhya Pradesh. The price is so high that even from Delhi to Mumbai and Chennai, it is nothing. Now the question is why the people of MP have to pay the highest price. What are the reasons behind this, due to which the rate is so high?
1. Highest VAT tax
The present Dr. Mohan Yadav government of Madhya Pradesh is imposing the highest VAT on petrol and diesel in the state. Rest of the states levy much less VAT than MP due to which prices are lower there. Experts say that this is why petrol is so expensive here.
2. Additional Cess and Local Tax
Similarly, Madhya Pradesh government imposes VAT on petrol and diesel. But apart from this, additional taxes and cess are also collected, due to which the price increases further.
3. Transportation costs are high
Exert says that due to transport there is also an impact on the price of petrol. Because in many districts of MP, due to the distance of oil depots and supply centres, transport expenses increase, the impact of which is felt on the pockets of the common man.
4. Double effect of central and state taxes
Let us tell you that excise duty is imposed on petrol and diesel by the Central Government. But Madhya Pradesh government imposes its VAT on it as soon as it comes to the state. Due to this double tax also the prices of petrol increases in MP.
5. Important contribution to revenue
The money coming from revenue and taxes is the biggest income of Madhya Pradesh government. Therefore, tax rates are not reduced much, due to which prices remain high.
