Shastri’s prediction was wrong
With this performance, Akash Singh also made commentator Ravi Shastri’s prediction wrong. Actually, Shastri had written on a slip at the beginning of the match that Chennai Super Kings would lose only one wicket in the powerplay. But Akash Singh created a stir in the commentary box by taking two wickets. Shastri said during the commentary, ‘Akash Singh came and messed everything up.’
bowled 4 consecutive overs
Akash Singh did not stop even after the powerplay and bowled the fourth consecutive over. In this over, he also showed Urvil Patel the way to the pavilion. That means he took a total of 3 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs, which is also the best spell of his IPL career. Let us tell you, Akash Singh’s IPL career started in the year 2021. He made his debut playing for Rajasthan. After this, in 2023, he took 5 wickets in 6 matches for Chennai. Then in 2025, Lucknow gave him a chance, last season also he took 4 wickets in 3 matches.
