Actor Amjad Khan, who became popular in every household by playing the role of Gabbar in the famous Bollywood film ‘Sholay’, is counted among the most memorable villains of Hindi cinema. Recently his son Shadab Khan has made a shocking revelation related to his father. He told that his father owed ₹1.27 crore to the film industry. To recover this money he had received a call for help from the underworld.
Shadab Khan told how Amjad Khan’s money was stuck
During a conversation, Shadab Khan said that his father used to help many people financially. Amjad Khan used to waive off the loans of those who were not in a position to return the money. But there were many big producers and filmmakers who owed huge amounts of money and never returned that money. Shadab told that this amount was approximately ₹ 1.27 crore, which was considered a huge amount at that time. He said that at that time three to four flats could be bought in Pali Hill, a posh area of Mumbai, for this much money.
No one came forward to return the money – Shadab Khan
Shadab Khan said that the people who were owed money were all big and renowned producers. “This money was owed to well-known filmmakers and producers. But none of them came forward and returned the money,” he said.
Amjad Khan’s wife Shaila did not ask for money
If Amjad Khan’s wife Shaila Khan wanted, she could have asked people for money back, but she did not do so. Shadab told that for his mother it was a matter of self-respect and principles. He recalled that his mother always said, “God will take care of us.”
Offer of help also came from underworld
Shadab Khan also revealed that after his father’s demise, he had also received a call from the underworld. He told that some people wanted to help him and were offering to recover the outstanding money from the film industry. But his mother clearly rejected this help.

Shadab told that he had received a call a few months after his father’s death. “I picked up the phone. The call was from a certain gangster from the Middle East. He said that I heard that Amjad Sahab owed a lot of money.” The person also said that if the family wants, all the money can be returned within 3 days.

According to Shadab, her mother clearly said that her husband never took any favor from the underworld. She said, “I don’t want to start any new tradition like this now.” After this the matter ended there.
