Spencer Johnson got a chance to play
Chennai Super Kings included Spencer Johnson in the team this season in place of injured Nathan Ellis for Rs 1.5 crore. However, Johnson was recovering from a back injury, due to which he did not even play in the Big Bash League. For this reason, he could not take the field for Chennai in the initial matches of IPL 2026. He finally got a chance to debut in the match against Lucknow.
