Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 79 projects worth ₹208 crore in Maharajganj. He said that right vote brings development and good governance, while wrong vote promotes mafiaism and anarchy.
Maharajganj. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that when the public vote goes in the right direction, then development, security, employment and good governance is ensured. Whereas a wrong vote gives rise to problems like casteism, regionalism, nepotism, mafiaism and anarchy. He said that the double engine government has created a new environment of development and good governance in the state by effectively controlling all these negative trends. The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration and foundation stone laying program of 79 development projects worth more than ₹208 crore in Maharajganj on Friday. During this, he also distributed approval letters and toolkits to the beneficiaries of various government schemes.

The Chief Minister said that after the election of public representatives of BJP and its allies, beautification of temples and development of public facilities got priority. He said that earlier crores of rupees were spent on the boundary walls of cemeteries, whereas now the same money is being used to increase facilities in temples and in works of public interest. He said that the development visible in Maharajganj is the result of the right vote of the people. Construction of Banelia Mai Barrage, four lane road from Gorakhpur to Sonauli and other big development works are examples of this.
Double engine government brought Maharajganj out of mafiaism and fear
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that before the year 2017, Maharajganj was struggling with problems like encephalitis, poor health services, anarchy, mafiaism and migration. Children were dying of meningitis, roads were in bad shape, the electricity system was weak and encroachment on the lands of the poor was common.
He said that the double engine government formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completely changed the situation. Now encephalitis has been controlled, a medical college has been started and many areas of the district have been connected with better road networks. The Chief Minister said that with the construction of Gorakhpur-Sonauli four lane, the travel time will reduce from two hours to about 45 to 50 minutes. Both irrigation and connectivity have been strengthened by the Banelia Mai Barrage built on the Rohin River.
Vantangiya villages got respect and benefits of government schemes
The Chief Minister said that the double engine government provided facilities like revenue villages to Vantangiya villages. Work has been done to provide a respectable life to the people here by connecting them with lease, voter identity card and government schemes. He said that every poor is getting housing, toilet, ration and benefits of Ayushman Bharat scheme. The roads in the villages have been strengthened and the youth have got employment opportunities.
Encephalitis ended, ‘Bimaru’ tag also removed from Uttar Pradesh
The Chief Minister said that Maharajganj is now progressing rapidly in the fields of education, health and employment. Medical colleges, ITIs, polytechnics and other educational institutions have been established in the district. He said that serious diseases like encephalitis have almost been eliminated from Maharajganj, Kushinagar and Siddharthnagar. Besides, the tag of ‘sick state’ has also been removed from Uttar Pradesh and the state is now emerging as the development engine of the country.
Yogi government’s claim- mafia terror has ended in the state
The Chief Minister said that the previous governments ignored the problems of the poor, whereas the present government is extending the benefits of the schemes to every needy. He said that now the lands of the poor cannot be encroached upon, daughters are safe and the terror of mafia has ended in the state. He said that hundreds of youth of Maharajganj have got jobs in Uttar Pradesh Police and farmers are getting benefits of irrigation, seeds, tractors and government procurement centres.
Ram temple and Kashi Vishwanath Dham were also mentioned.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after centuries of struggle, the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya became possible. He said that thousands of people of Maharajganj also remained associated with the Ram Mandir movement. The Chief Minister said that historical works like Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Ram Mandir were completed under the double engine government, whereas parties like SP and Congress always remained an obstacle in these works.
Government’s focus on development of India-Nepal border area
The Chief Minister said that it is the priority of the government to connect border areas like Nautanwa, Farenda and Sonauli with the mainstream of development. He said that cultural, religious and social relations between India and Nepal are very strong. He said that the development of Buddhist circuit and areas connected to the international border is very important from security and strategic point of view.
Chief Minister’s appeal on West Asia crisis and fuel saving
Referring to the West Asia crisis, the Chief Minister said that due to US-Iran tension, the supply of petrol, diesel and LPG is being affected, due to which the economic pressure is increasing. Despite this, the central government is trying to control the prices. He appealed to the people to save electricity and fuel and said that they should support the government in the national interest with the spirit of “Nation First” while avoiding the negative narrative of the opposition.
Appeal to farmers and bullion traders also
The Chief Minister appealed to the farmers to promote compost and organic fertilizers by reducing the use of urea. He said that the supply of finished fertilizer in Maharajganj should be given to the farmers of the district on priority basis and black marketing will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Along with this, he appealed to the bullion traders to promote remodeling of old jewelery and said that this will help in economic savings of the country.
