Prices of these products increased
These 15 days of May have not been good for the Indian people. From the first date till now the prices of gas cylinders, petrol and diesel have increased. The impact of the ongoing tension in the Middle East is beginning to be visible on India. The continuously rising prices of crude oil and the falling rupee have posed a challenge to the economy. The result of this is that the prices of some essential commodities have increased in the country.
Prices of commercial cylinders increased
On the first of the month itself, government companies increased the price of commercial cylinders by Rs 993. After this increase, the price of this 19 kg cylinder in Delhi increased to Rs 3071.50. At the same time, the rates in many cities including Mumbai are around Rs 3000. However, the government has not increased the price of domestic cylinders this month.
Gold import duty increased
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked to keep the country’s foreign treasury safe and reduce the pressure on CAD. For this, some appeals were also made to the countrymen. He requested people not to buy gold for the next one year. Also asked to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel. After this appeal, the government itself increased the import duty on many precious metals including gold and silver. The import tax which was earlier 6 percent has increased to 15 percent. It is expected that the import of gold will reduce in the coming time.

Milk prices also increased
Meanwhile, the major dairy products selling companies of the country, Mother Dairy and Amul also hit the pockets of the common man. Both these companies announced to increase the prices of milk on the same day on 13 May 2026. First Amul announced to increase the price by Rs 2 per liter and then in the evening Mother Dairy also announced an increase of Rs 2 per liter on different types of milk. In a statement issued by Mother Dairy on Wednesday, the company said that the cost of purchasing milk from farmers has increased by about 6 percent in the last one year.
CNG price increase
The day on which the increased milk prices were to come into effect. That means, on May 14, 2026, the price of CNG in Mumbai also increased by Rs 2 per kg. After this increase, CNG there became Rs 84 per kg. After this increase, there is a possibility of increase in auto fares. The next day i.e. on 15th May, CNG prices increased in Delhi also. In the country’s capital also, the price of CNG increased by Rs 2 per kg, which after the increase has now become Rs 79.09 per kg.
Petrol diesel prices increased
Ever since tension started in the Middle East. Since then the country’s oil market is under pressure. Because the supply of crude oil has been disrupted. The Hormuz blockade has brought oil to a boil. Government companies are incurring losses worth lakhs of crores due to rising crude oil prices. Meanwhile, the prices of petrol and diesel increased today. The government increased the price by Rs 3 per liter across the country.
