PM Modi reached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday in the first stop of his five-nation tour. Here he was given a guard of honor and the President welcomed him. The Emirati culture of UAE is also known for its food. This country is rich in terms of food culture. Arabic, Persian, Indian and African influences are visible in the food here. Mutton, chicken, camel meat and sea food are all part of the diet of the people here, but the question is whether the Sheikhs here like more – chicken, beef, mutton or fish.

The report of market research agency Sapience says that the meat industry in UAE is going through a phase of change because the demand of the people is changing. His preferences have changed. This has had a direct impact on the food industry.

The report of the Market Research Agency says, 80 percent of the population here eats meat and chicken is eaten the most. Chicken is the first choice of people due to its easy availability, reasonable prices and taste. It is considered a better and healthy option of protein.

Here chicken is the favorite meat of the people but many big and expensive restaurants give more priority to beef and sheep meat in traditional food. Some premium restaurants and specialty joints also serve select beef cuts, especially imported and halal meat.

For example, the meat market of Sharjah is said to be the biggest Halal-certified market. Both local and imported meat is available here. The demand for premium meat is high in UAE. The changing pattern of preference towards meat among the people here shows that now people are liking high quality meat.

Sheep meat imported from Australia and New Zealand is more preferred here. A large variety of it is available in Arabic restaurants, where it is cooked with spices on low flame.
