One of the many wishes of Indian cricket fans is to see Vaibhav Suryavanshi playing in the senior Indian team as soon as possible. Everyone has seen the magic of this 15 year old young batsman in IPL and Under-19 cricket. Now the wait is to see the senior players scoring runs for Team India. A step has been taken in this direction. Vaibhav has been given a place in the India-A team, where he will go to Sri Lanka for the ODI tournament. But will he get success in Sri Lanka? Will they be able to overcome the challenge there?
BCCI announced the India-A team for the tour of Sri Lanka on 14 May. This team will play a triangular series in Sri Lanka, in which the third team will be from Afghanistan. Tilak Verma has got the captaincy of India-A for this series while Riyan Parag has been made the vice-captain of the team. But the most discussion is about the selection of young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, about which there is a lot of curiosity.
As soon as the news of Vaibhav’s selection came out, former Team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan also expressed his reaction and told what kind of challenges he would have to face there. In a video of Star Sports, Pathan said, “It is a step in the right direction that the selectors want to see him for top level cricket. The wind blows in Dambulla, the bowlers get help, so how will he deal with the bowlers from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The way he is performing at such a young age, I think he will overcome this challenge in the conditions of Sri Lanka.”

Veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara said, “It is a big opportunity for Vaibhav. Especially if he gets selected in the ODI format, it is a good opportunity to prove himself. India-A is a good platform for young players, where confidence increases when they perform. If they perform well there, then there is a discussion going on to play in Team India, they can get a chance soon.”
