Raigarh Municipal Corporation has taken strict action and lodged an FIR in the case of digging the road without permission and damaging the water pipeline. The breakage of the pipeline caused water crisis in many areas, due to which there was anger among the people.
Raigarh. Raigarh Municipal Corporation has started taking strict action against those who damage corporation properties, dig roads without permission and do illegal construction work. In this series, the corporation administration has lodged an FIR in Jutmil police station regarding a construction work going on in Savitri Nagar Road, Mitthumuda area.
Water pipeline broken during construction work near Shivam Hotel
According to the Municipal Corporation, the construction work of the building near Shivam Hotel Malldhakka Road located on Savitri Nagar Road, Mitthumuda was being done by Abhishek Aggarwal. During the construction work, digging was done at about six places on the main road. During this period the main water supply pipeline of the Municipal Corporation got damaged.
Due to the rupture of the pipeline, water supply was disrupted in the surrounding areas including Transport Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Mitthu Mod, Savitri Nagar and Leather Godown on the morning of 13 May 2026. Due to this people had to face drinking water crisis.
People are angry due to water crisis, public representatives also expressed their protest.
There was huge anger among the regional citizens after the water supply was affected. Along with local people, public representatives also expressed dissatisfaction over the matter. The corporation administration said that the person concerned had not taken prior permission from the Municipal Corporation or any other competent authority for digging the road and doing construction work.
FIR lodged for damaging government property
The Municipal Corporation administration says that government property has been damaged by digging a public road without permission. This caused financial loss to the corporation and common citizens also had to face serious problems. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the corporation administration has registered a crime in Jutmil police station under provisions related to disrupting public order, damaging government property and digging public roads without permission.
Action will continue against illegal construction and road cutting.
The Municipal Corporation has clearly said that strict action will continue against those involved in illegal construction in the city, road cutting without permission, tampering with pipelines or causing damage to the public properties of the corporation.
Corporation Commissioner’s appeal – take permission first, otherwise legal action will be taken
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Brijesh Singh Kshatriya said that the water pipelines, roads and other public facilities of the corporation are built keeping in mind the needs of the general public. Any kind of tampering with them or digging the road without permission is a serious crime.
He has appealed to the citizens, builders and contractors to take due permission from the Municipal Corporation before any construction work, road cutting or excavation, so that the basic facilities of the city continue to run smoothly and people do not have to face problems.
