Lucknow. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking big steps to make health services more transparent, quality and technology based. In this direction, under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), a special verification and sanitization campaign was conducted to make the data of hospitals and doctors more accurate and reliable. The objective of the government is to ensure that the beneficiaries of the scheme get safe, transparent and better health services and to prevent any kind of irregularities or fraud.
Intensive investigation of data of hospitals and doctors
Sachij CEO Archana Verma said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s priority is to ensure that the benefits of health facilities reach the poor and needy people with complete transparency. Keeping this in mind, many corrective steps have been taken by the department at the technical and administrative level. During a recent special campaign, detailed examination of data related to hospitals and doctors was done. Many important facts came to light in the investigation. During the review, it was found that the names of 28 doctors were linked to more than 15 hospitals, while the names of 274 doctors were found to be linked to more than seven hospitals.
Notice issued to hospitals and doctors after verification process
Taking these matters seriously, notices were issued to the concerned doctors and hospitals. After this, a three-day verification process was conducted, in which all the concerned parties were given an opportunity to present their views and submit the necessary documents. During the investigation, it also came to light that many doctors were earlier working in the respective hospitals, but due to the data not being updated on time, their names remained in the records.
Availability of specialist doctors in remote areas became a relief
CEO Archana Verma said that many specialist doctors are actually associated with different hospitals and are providing their services. Due to this, specialist health services are being available even in remote and needy areas of the state. The government says that the purpose of this campaign is not to harass any doctor or hospital, but to strengthen the quality and credibility of health services.
Government’s priority to stop fraud and data discrepancy
Yogi government is laying special emphasis on preventing any kind of fraud, data discrepancy and irregularities under PM-JAY scheme. The government wants that government resources should be properly utilized and the benefits of the schemes should reach the genuinely eligible people. For this, technology-based monitoring and digital systems are being continuously strengthened.
Emphasis on Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and Electronic Health Records
The government is now working on rapid implementation of digital processes and electronic health record (EHR) system under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. After the implementation of this system, the complete medical records of the patients will be available in digital form. This will make the treatment process faster, transparent and effective. Experts believe that with the implementation of EHR system, the need for frequent check-ups of patients will be reduced. Besides, doctors will get facility in treatment and government monitoring system will also become stronger.
