Iran UAE Conflict: UAE seems to be in new trouble amid Iran-US ceasefire. After increasing closeness to Israel and Abraham Agreement, Iran has given an open warning to UAE. The fear of danger to Dubai and Abu Dhabi has increased.
UAE Israel Relations: The war in the Middle East may seem to have stopped for the time being, but the new diplomatic battle that has started behind the scenes is now increasing the concern of the Gulf countries. Especially the United Arab Emirates i.e. UAE has suddenly come at the center of such a controversy, which has again heated up the security politics of the entire region. American media reports and Israel’s latest claims have brought UAE directly into the geopolitical conflict between Iran on one side and the Israel-US alliance on the other. The biggest fear is that if the ceasefire between Iran and America is broken, then UAE could become the next target.
American report increases UAE’s problems
The report of American newspaper Wall Street Journal claimed that UAE had played a role in military action against Iran during the recent conflict. Although this claim has not been officially confirmed, but after the report came out, the stir in the Gulf region intensified. Meanwhile, the statement issued by Benjamin Netanyahu’s office made the matter more sensitive. The statement said that when UAE was being attacked by Iran, Netanyahu visited Abu Dhabi and this visit was part of cooperation under the Abraham Agreement. The United Arab Emirates rejected this claim of Israel, but Israel continues to call UAE its strategic ally.

Iran gave open warning
Iran has reacted sharply to the alleged cooperation between Israel and UAE. Abbas Araghchi said that maintaining enmity with Tehran could prove to be a “foolish gamble” for the Gulf countries. Iran has also warned of further “punitive action”. Experts believe that if tension between America and Iran increases again, UAE may come under direct attack from Iranian attacks.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi on target of Iran?
According to the Financial Times report, Iran had carried out more than 2000 attacks on UAE during the conflict. Among these, Dubai and Abu Dhabi were targeted the most.
The Iranian Foreign Minister claims that Tehran was already aware of the closeness of UAE and Israel, hence strategic targets were targeted. Experts on Middle East affairs say that Dubai and Abu Dhabi are not only economic centres, but also important power centers of Western countries and Gulf politics. In such a situation, in case of any major conflict, these cities will be counted among the most sensitive areas.
Iran remains strong even after the war
According to the Washington Post report, even after the war, Iran has reactivated about 70 percent of its weapons. The report said that before the war started, Iran had about 3000 ballistic missiles. This is the reason why there is still serious concern about security in the Gulf countries.
What is the Abraham Accords?
The Abraham Accords is considered one of the biggest diplomatic changes in Middle East politics. This agreement started on 13 August 2020 under the mediation of America. Under this agreement, official relations were established between the United Arab Emirates and Israel. Later Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco also joined it. This agreement was named after Hazrat Ibrahim, who is revered in all three religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. This was considered a historic step towards recognition of Israel by the Arab countries.
After all, why did UAE increase friendship with Israel?
Why did UAE, which once refused to recognize Israel, suddenly appear to be standing with it? Many strategic reasons are given behind this. The biggest reason is Iran’s increasing influence in the Middle East. Both UAE and Israel consider Iran a threat to regional security. This is the reason why both the countries increased cooperation in defence, intelligence and cyber security. The second big reason is economic and technical partnership. Israel is counted among the world’s leading countries in cyber security, artificial intelligence, agricultural technology and defense technology.
At the same time, UAE wants to take its economy out of the oil-based model and make itself a technology and business hub. In such a situation, strong relations with Israel are also considered economically beneficial for it. Apart from this, maintaining strong relations with America has also been an important part of UAE’s strategy.
Instability may increase again in the Middle East
Even though ceasefire is in force at present, the way UAE’s name is coming to the fore in this conflict has increased the concern of the entire Gulf region. Experts believe that if tensions between Iran, Israel and America increase again, its biggest impact could be on the Gulf countries. Especially countries like UAE, which is not only an economic power but also strategically important, may face the most pressure in the coming times.
