According to the Panchang, the Trayodashi tithi of Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha month will start from 11:20 am on Thursday, May 14, which will continue till 08:31 am the next day i.e. Friday, May 15. Since Lord Shiva is worshiped in the evening during Pradosh Vrat and this situation is falling on 14th May, Thursday, then this Vrat will be observed on this day. Due to Pradosh fast being observed on Thursday, it will be called Guru Pradosh.

According to the Panchang, on Thursday, May 14, the auspicious time for the worship of Pradosh Vrat will start from 07:04 PM and will continue till 09:09 PM. That means devotees will get full time of 02 hours 05 minutes for worship.
Perform Guru Pradosh fast and worship with this method
– On the morning of 14th May, Thursday, after taking bath, take water, rice and flowers in your hand and take a pledge to fast and worship. Follow the rules of fasting throughout the day and do not eat anything. If it is not possible to do this then you can eat fruits.
