ICC Test Rankings: Under the World Test Championship, a 2-match Test series is being played between Bangladesh and Pakistan. In the first match of this series, Pakistan had to face defeat by 104 runs. The performance of the Pakistani team in this match was very poor, the effect of which was seen in the latest ICC Test rankings. Pakistani players have suffered losses in the rankings, due to which there has been an improvement in the rankings of Indian players.
Indian players benefit from Pakistan’s defeat
In the latest Test rankings shared by ICC, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah remains at the top position. Bumrah has maintained his dominance with 879 points. In the ranking of batsmen, England’s Joe Root is at first place with 880 points. At the same time, young Indian opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal is at eighth place and Shubman Gill is at ninth place. Jaiswal has 750 points in his name. Whereas, Gill has moved up one place with 730 points. Actually, Saud Shakeel of Pakistan has lost 6 places, due to which Shubman Gill has gained.
Apart from these, Rishabh Pant has also moved from 15th to 14th position. Similarly, Ravindra Jadeja has reached 22nd position, because Babar Azam has lost 1 place. He could not be a part of this match due to injury. On the other hand, Bangladesh’s star batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto has jumped 16 places to 23rd position.
They got advantage in the ranking of bowlers
Talking about bowlers, after Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj is at 12th place among Indians. Ravindra Jadeja is at 14th place and Kuldeep Yadav is at 15th place. At the same time, Australia’s experienced fast bowler Mitchell Starc has reached the second position, while the team’s Test captain Pat Cummins has jumped to the fourth position. New Zealand’s Matt Henry has also reached third place. Actually, Pakistani bowler Noman Ali has lost 3 places, due to which these three bowlers have gained 1 place each.
