New Delhi: Following a lot of anticipation, BMW Motorrad India have finally debuted the BMW S 1000 R in India. With immediate effect, any BMW Motorrad India shop will be able to book the roadster as a completely built-up unit (CBU). By its appearance, it has racing genes, and its roadster proportions set it apart.

With its bold aesthetics, razor-sharp precision and adrenaline-packed DNA, the ‘Single R’ is built for those who live for the rush. It is not just a motorcycle – it’s a statement.”

Design-wise, BMW S 1000 R stands out
With its splitface LED headlights, daytime riding lights, and R badge, the BMW S 1000 R is distinctive, no doubt. Furthermore, it has a short and sporty license plate holder, and the turn signals and license plate lights in the back are now just a single unit. The turn indication lights also incorporate the features of the brake and tail lights.
In terms of looks, the R comes with Style Sport and the M package option in addition to the standard colour Blackstorm Metalli. Along with the tinted Sport windscreen, the Style Sport option with the Bluefire and Maugiallo Yellow painting only makes it more dynamic in appearance.
The M Motorsport paint finish is only available in the M package with the base colour Light White Uni and can be mixed with Light Blue, Dark Blue and Red.
BMW S 1000 R powertrain and features
The BMW S 1000 R’s power comes from a 999 cc, four-cylinder, four-stroke in-line engine that is water/oil cooled. The engine can make up to 114 Nm of torque and 170 horsepower. With its electronically controlled speed of 250 kph and a 0-100 kph time of just 3.2 seconds, the roadster delivers an incredible performance.
Some of the features of the BMW S 1000 R include, Headlight Pro with daytime riding lights, M Quick action throttle, Control (MSR), and Engine Drag Torque riding modes (Rain, Road, and Dynamic), plus Hill Start Control, are just a few of the many standard features that come with the R. Further it also gets full LED lights, a six-axis sensor box with ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), a USB charging port, and a 6.5 TFT display with connection.
In terms of information and display, the TFT display is among the best in the market. One of three Core Ride screens that show a variety of different information is displayed on the screen, or it shows essential information. Customers also have options of choosing from three different packages, the Dynamic, Comfort, and M Sport packages, which are customised to their own degree.
