Asia Cup 2025 Political Controversy: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut claimed that the Indo-Pak match was betting 1.5 lakh crores, of which 25 thousand crores reached Pakistan. The players also denied handshake after the match.
Politics has also intensified on the high voltage match played between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has sensationally claimed that the match was speculated of about Rs 1.5 lakh crore, out of which Pakistan got Rs 25,000 crore.
Raut said in a conversation with reporters on Monday, “The Pakistan Cricket Board has received Rs 1,000 crore from the Indo-Pak match and this money will be used against us. Is the government or the BCCI not aware of it?”

Players did not join hands
India won the match by seven wickets, but the match ended with controversies. The Indian players refused to do traditional handsheakes with the Pakistan team. This decision was taken with the permission of the team’s support staff and BCCI.
Raut, calling it a ‘fake’ match, said that the decision was not taken suddenly, but was already decided.
The match was played at a time when tension between India and Pakistan is at its peak. The situation between the two countries remains extremely sensitive after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April and the ‘Operation Sindoor’ action of the Indian Army on 7 May. For this reason, before the match, many parties and organizations demanded a boycott.
