New Delhi: The makers of Udaipur Files are not deterred by the legal issues that the film has encountered and are going ahead with the release of the film on July 11. Director Bharat Shrinate when contacted said, we are going ahead with the release of the film as the the Censor board has cleared the film . When probed if the CBFC asked for cuts to which Shrinate replied, “they have asked for 150 cuts which we have accepted and going ahead with the release.”
He further added, “There have been people who have gone to court against Kashmir Files, Sabarmati Report nothing really happened and people saw those films and appreciated them.”
Udaipur files based on the Kanhaiyalal Murder case, who was a tailor who was killed on camera and the makers call this film as a tribute to him. When asked why did they choose a subject that has angered people to which Shrinate said, “because we are showing truth and only some people from a particular community are upset. As for choosing the subject it was my producer Amit Jani who chose the subject of the film and I have executed it. And honestly it is a tribute to Kanhaiyalal Sahu.”
