According to officials, the journey from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut will be completed in less than an hour. The special thing is that the train will take this time even while stopping at every station. After the entire project is ready, the share of public transport on the Delhi-Meerut route will increase from 37 percent to 63 percent.

The Sarai Kale Khan station of this corridor of 82.15 km long is one of the largest stations. It will not only be the RRTS station, but also a multi-model transit hub. From here, passengers will be able to interchange for bus terminals, metro line and railway stations easily.

Sarai Kale Khan station is 215 meters long, 50 meters wide and 15 meters high. It will work to connect three different RRTs corridors. The special thing is that all the train sets running here have been completely designed and prepared in the country. They are built in Hyderabad and built at the Alstom Plant in Gujarat.

‘Namo Bharat’ trains are capable of running at a speed of 160 kmph. Passengers do not need seat reservation and these trains offer fast and comfortable travel with less stoppage. During the trial run, the journey from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram was completed in less than an hour. Currently, the 55 km operational section is going on from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut South.

Focus on safety and employment of women

Special emphasis has been laid on the safety and participation of women in this project. Women staff, CCTV surveillance and dedicated coaches have been provided in stations and trains. A large number of women are working as a train operator and station controller.

NCR’s gateway will be built station

After the inauguration, Sarai Kale Khan station will become an important gateway connecting Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. This will not only make the journey easier but will also promote new economic and residential development in NCR.
