New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered their fourth consecutive victory of the IPL 2026 after defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 8 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday, May 8. The massive win keeps the three-time champions’ playoff hopes alive.
KKR spinners restricted DC to 142/8 in 20 overs after electing to bat first, despite a sensational fifty from Pathum Nissanka. In reply, impact substitute Finn Allen smacked a brilliant 100 as KKR crossed the winning line in 14.2 overs.
Defending a below-par total, the Axar-Patel side desperately looked for early wickets and briefly found some hope after taking two wickets in 4 overs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane was run out after the ball brushed pacer Mitchell Starc’s fingertips onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi was removed by Axar for 1.
But Allen’s sensational and fearless batting kept KKR in control of the case as the Kiwi opener dismantled DC’s bowling attack with explosive hitting and aggressive strokeplay. He smashed an unbeaten 100 runs off 47 balls with the help of five boundaries and 10 maximums.
