Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 325 development projects worth Rs 2,131 crore in Saharanpur. He said that the double engine government has created new opportunities for development, connectivity, security and employment in western Uttar Pradesh.
Saharanpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while making a sharp attack on the opposition, said that politics of ‘satisfaction’ is now happening in Uttar Pradesh, not ‘appeasement’. He said that earlier governments used to spend government money on cemetery boundary walls, encroachments and ethno-communal appeasement, but the present government is spending the same money on development of roads, universities, sports colleges, RCC drains, expressways and religious-tourism sites.
The Chief Minister was addressing the foundation stone laying and inauguration program of 325 development projects worth Rs 2,131 crore in Saharanpur on Thursday. He said that Saharanpur, which was once infamous due to riots, fatwas and migration, has today become a new identity of development, industrial progress and modern connectivity.
Double engine government changed the picture of western Uttar Pradesh
The Chief Minister said that the policies of the double engine government have changed both the picture and destiny of Western Uttar Pradesh. Earlier it used to take about 6 hours to reach Delhi from Saharanpur and 12 to 14 hours to reach Lucknow, but now due to expressway and better connectivity, Delhi is only two and a half hours away and Lucknow is about 6 hours away.
He said that those who hinder development try to divide the society by doing politics of caste and appeasement. But now the public stands with development, security and nationalism. He said that if good governments are elected then positive results also emerge and Saharanpur is an example of this.
Saharanpur moves towards development from riots and migration
The Chief Minister said that between 2013 and 2016, there was an atmosphere of riots, curfew, migration and anarchy in Saharanpur. At that time there was no major center of education, sports and industry here. Farmers were in trouble, youth were migrating for employment and businessmen were living in an atmosphere of fear.
He said that due to fatwas and bad culture, the image of Deoband had been tarnished. Referring to the 2016 anti-Sikh riots and Muzaffarnagar-Shamli violence, the Chief Minister said that at that time the entire western Uttar Pradesh was affected by unrest, but there was no one to listen. He said that after the formation of double engine government in 2017, Saharanpur created a new identity. The world class wood art here got a new platform and today Saharanpur has established its own identity.
Saharanpur’s picture is changing with expressway, airport and industrial hub
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today Saharanpur is fast becoming a major center of development and connectivity. He said that on April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi-Baghpat-Shamli-Saharanpur-Dehradun six-lane expressway, which has given new strength to the connectivity of the region.
He said that the first big industrial and logistics hub is being developed in Saharanpur between Delhi and Dehradun, which will provide employment to thousands of youth. Apart from this, Noida International Airport in Jewar, the country’s first rapid rail in Meerut and the approximately 600 km long Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj have changed the picture of western Uttar Pradesh.
The Chief Minister said that now Prayagraj can be reached from Saharanpur in seven and a half hours. Maa Shakambhari University is being established in Saharanpur, airport work is in the final stages and a sports college is being constructed in Behat. He said that work is being done rapidly on modern bus station, RCC drain and better road network. An elevated highway is being built for easy travel of devotees to Maa Shakambhari Dham, so that darshan can be done easily in every season.
Targeting the opposition on the issue of Sanatan culture and security
The Chief Minister said that healthy competition for development is going on in districts like Saharanpur, Bijnor, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bulandshahr and Baghpat of Western Uttar Pradesh. He said that there is no alternative to development, but some people try to divide the society through caste and appeasement politics.
He alleged that people who promote the culture of fatwas and patronize goons and mafia become silent when Sanatan culture is attacked. The Chief Minister said that now the public has understood everything and the double engine government has given new confidence to the youth of Western Uttar Pradesh through security, development and good governance.
CM Yogi’s statement on ATS center and security arrangements
The Chief Minister said that earlier fatwas were issued from Deoband even on small matters. He said that there can be no compromise with the freedom of the individual and the security of the country. He told that on the proposal of Kunwar Brijesh Singh, an ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) center was immediately established here. ATS commandos are continuously monitoring and strict action will be taken against anyone who works against the security of the country.
The Chief Minister said that if any traitor raises his head, his work is certain to be finished. Those who compromise the security of the country or play with the future of the youth will have to face consequences.
Warning of strict action on anti-India activities
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, insult to Vande Mataram has been kept in the category of cognizable offence. He said that now strict action will be taken against those who insult the national symbols of India. He said that it cannot be accepted that a person should live in India, eat the food here and sing songs of enemy countries. He appealed to the people to beware of those who damage national property and indulge in appeasement politics.
Saharanpur will get new momentum from 325 development projects
The Chief Minister said that the progress seen in Saharanpur is the result of the fast working style of the double engine government. He said that a total of 325 development projects worth Rs 2,131 crore were laid and inaugurated. These include inauguration of 184 projects worth Rs 500 crore and laying of foundation stone of 141 projects worth Rs 1,631 crore. These projects will be implemented in Behat, Rampur Maniharan, Saharanpur Nagar, Saharanpur Dehat, Nakur, Gangoh and Deoband areas.
The Chief Minister said that from the streets of Saharanpur to the villages, better connectivity and new pace of development is being given.
