Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was not only the chief guest at the Shikshamitra Award ceremony but was also seen as a guide. He said many important things to Shiksha Mitras to make them understand the importance of education and better behavior with children. He said that it is the responsibility of all three – parents, teachers and society – to develop the desire to study in the mind of every child. Shikshamitras should not be limited to just teaching, but should also run a campaign to bring every child to school. Teachers and Shikshamitras are the artisans who create a strong foundation for children.

Dealing with children: Do not beat, teach with love

The Chief Minister clearly said that there should not be any kind of assault on children. Beating can make children stubborn and fearful. He suggested that children should be taught with love and understanding. Motivate them to learn through good stories, poems and inspirational examples. He also said that teachers should not bring their personal stress or family problems to school, so that the children do not have a negative impact.

Education and future: The society will be formed as we teach.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the children who are studying in schools today will become the future of the country in future. If they get the right direction, they will become good doctors, teachers, farmers, officers and leaders. He said that leaders also emerge from this society, hence it is very important to give proper education to children. Emphasizing on working with positive thinking, he said that every Shikshamitra has the ability to give better results.

Example of a school with 280 children

Sharing an experience, the Chief Minister said that he saw the presence of 280 children in a school. He said that this number is an indication that good work is being done there. When the education environment is positive, the number of children automatically increases. He also told that even when he was an MP, he used to visit schools and Anganwadi centers and even today he likes meeting children.

Inspirational experience of Anganwadi center

CM Yogi mentioned an interesting incident. He told that in an Anganwadi center small children were being taught counting through songs – “Ek-ek-ek meri naak ek… Do-do-do meri aankhen do…” When he asked the children, the children immediately responded in the same manner. He said that children can be taught easily through such simple and creative methods.

Cleanliness and uniform: responsibility of parents

The Chief Minister asked the Shiksha Mitras to make the parents aware also.

  • Children should come to school in clean clothes
  • take regular bath
  • Wear the correct uniform and shoes

He told that earlier many children used to come to school without shoes or slippers, but now the government is providing uniforms, shoes, socks and sweaters. Therefore, parents should also fulfill their responsibilities.

‘School Chalo’ campaign: Education should reach every child

The Chief Minister appealed to further intensify the “School Chalo” campaign before the opening of schools in July. He said that teachers and Shikshamitras:

  • reach school early
  • Go door to door and motivate children to go to school
  • Make sure that no child wanders away during school hours

Sports and education: emphasis on balanced development

The Chief Minister advised the teachers to also participate in sports with the children. This will improve the physical and mental development of children. He said that only an educated society can create a strong and self-reliant nation. Only through this can the foundation of a developed India be laid.
