The agency clarified that the move will remain in effect until the criminal investigation and internal review is completed. Secret Service Director Richard McAuley issued a statement saying, “This alleged behavior is unacceptable and completely contrary to the professional standards expected of our agents. We are taking this matter extremely seriously.” The agency also indicated that if the allegations are proven, strict disciplinary action would be taken.
